Reverend
Dr. Kyohei Mikawa

Rev. Mikawa has earned a PhD degree at the University of Chicago Divinity School in 2023. Focus of his study is philosophy of the Buddhist text called the Lotus Sutra. His creative ministry integrates Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and spiritual healing. Check out his YouTube video: "How To Grow Inner Peace."

Tim Wong

Tim leads the English Sunday Service.

He is a 4th generation member of Rissho Kosei kai and spent two years in Buddhist seminary in Japan.

Miwa Kubota

Miwa works with Rev. Kyohei to create new expressions of the traditional pracices of Buddhism of RKLA for the purpose of responding to the spiritual needs of wider audience in LA. Topics include how to present the value of appreciating the presene of ancestors and employing posthumous names of those who have passed in new forms.

Ron Capron

Masao leads the youth group and is a 2nd generation member of Rissho Kosei kai. He spent two years in Buddhist seminary in Japan.

Ken
Dharma Teacher

 

Ken has been a member of RKLA since 1975. He helped to acquire RKLA's present site and has worked steadfastly on the Board and with the English mission. He studied seminary in Japan and served as Reverend in San Francisco.

Mrs. Masuno is the General Affairs leader and 1st Chapter leader. She formerly served as the Young Women's Group Leader and Valley leader.

Mike Sonksen
Dharma Teacher

 

Mike is a 3rd generation Angeleno poet, journalist and activist community leader. He writes and teaches poetry in various levels of schools and organizes poetry workshops. Check out his recent article on "The Action Dimension of Buddhism" (p.14-17):
