On October 26, Saturday, we gathered to do trash pickup on Mott street and then cleaned the vines on the north wall of the back parking lot.
We did this as a part of our Buddhist practice: cleaning and volunteer help as meditation. The mission of Rissho Kosei-kai Buddhist Center of Los Angeles is to offer space and skills to transform our everyday life experience into the site of our Buddhist practice where we cultivate our compassion and care for the lives of ourselves and all sentient beings.
We started with writing a bodhisatva vow on a piece of paper, did the work, and then gathered for a reflectve group sharing called "Hoza", followed by a delicious lunch made by our San Diego leaders.
Special thanks to Leo Armas for leading this important session! and Toshimi for preparing gloves for us!
