The Mindful Monday Curriculum

Week 1 – November 3, 2025

Introduction to Mindfulness and Healing

Focus: Understanding mindfulness as both a modern therapeutic tool and a core Buddhist practice.Practices: Guided breathing meditation; brief mindful walking.Integration: Daily 5–10 minute breath awareness practice.


Week 2 – November 10, 2025

Awareness of the Body

Focus: Cultivating grounded presence through the body. Practices: Body scan meditation; mindful stretching. Integration: Mindful eating and posture awareness.


Week 3 – November 17, 2025

Awareness of Feelings and Emotions

Focus: Recognizing pleasant, unpleasant, and neutral feelings without reactivity. Practices: Sitting meditation on sensations and emotions.Integration: Journaling brief “feeling check-ins” throughout the day.


Week 4 – November 24, 2025

Working with Thoughts and the Mind

Focus: Observing thoughts without attachment or aversion.Practices: Open awareness meditation; noting thoughts as “thinking.” Integration: Pause practice — three mindful breaths before responding.


Week 5 – December 1, 2025

Right Mindfulness and the Four Foundations of Mindfulness

Focus: Exploring the seventh factor of the Noble Eightfold Path; cultivating presence with body, feelings, mind, and mental phenomena.Practices: Guided meditation on the Four Foundations; mindful walking with reflection.

Integration: Choose one foundation to focus on daily for the week.


Week 6 – December 8, 2025

Transforming Stress and Reactivity

Focus: Understanding the stress cycle and applying mindfulness to soften reactivity.Practices: STOP practice (Stop, Take a breath, Observe, Proceed); grounding exercises.

Integration: Use STOP practice once a day in a stressful moment.


Week 7 – December 15, 2025

Cultivating Compassion (Metta Practice)

Focus: Developing kindness toward self and others.Practices: Loving-kindness meditation; compassion phrases.Integration: Daily compassion pause — silently offering kind wishes to oneself or others.


Week 8 – December 22, 2025

Mindful Communication

Focus: Bringing mindfulness into speech and listening. Practices: Mindful listening in pairs; speaking with awareness. Integration: Practice mindful listening with one person each day.


Week 9 – December 29, 2025

Introduction to Tai Chi Practice as a Mindful Activity

Focus: Experiencing Tai Chi as moving meditation and embodied mindfulness. Practices: Gentle Tai Chi sequences; mindful movement awareness. Integration: Incorporate 5–10 minutes of mindful movement daily.


Week 10 – January 5, 2026

Mindfulness in Daily Life

Focus: Applying mindfulness to work, chores, commuting, and technology use.

Practices: Mindful movement; awareness of transitions in daily activities. Integration: Choose one daily activity to practice with full attention.


Week 11 – January 12, 2026

Building Resilience and Joy

Focus: Using mindfulness to cultivate gratitude, resilience, and joy. Practices: Gratitude meditation; savoring simple experiences. Integration: Note three moments of gratitude daily.


Week 12 – January 19, 2026

Integration and Moving Forward

Focus: Reflecting on the journey and creating a sustainable home practice. Practices: Review of learned practices; closing circle with intention setting. Integration: Develop a personal practice plan for ongoing mindfulness.
